Thesis formatting checklist UK universities actually check
Target keyword: thesis formatting checklist · Search intent: informational
Format isn't where your thesis is judged, but it's where it's first impressions are formed. Get this right before submission day.
Layout essentials
Typically 1.5 or double line spacing, 12pt serif or 11pt sans-serif, 2.5cm margins (3cm on binding edge). Check your university's handbook — these vary.
Front and back matter
Title page, declaration, abstract, acknowledgements, contents, list of figures, list of tables, abbreviations, body chapters, references, appendices. In that order, unless your institution says otherwise.
